One of the most brilliant comedians of our time has passed. George Carlin, who frequently pushed the envelope of decency and decorum, died yesterday of heart failure. Carlin was 71. Remembered for his “7 Words You Can’t Say On Television,” Carlin was known also for his topical and political humor and rants.

Friendship…helps break the monotony of life

Sitting at home recouperating from an operation can be a dreadfully boring thing. I have found daytime television to be a bore. Headline news recycles itself every thirty minutes. And believe it or not, sometimes the internet can be a bit dull.
Today, Tim, a friend of mine from work called up to see if I was interested in lunch. Being a large mammal, I of course said yes. So, he brought me a chili dog and tater tots from Sonic. The food was good. But the fact that he went out of his way to come by the house was even better. We spent lunch talking about work, sports and music. His visit really made my day.

April…Long Time, No Blog

I got to thinking recently. That is NEVER a safe proposition, but, anyway…
It has been over 5 months since my last post. Of course, the common excuse is that I have been busy. Those who actually know me, know that is the case. But, I do enjoy blogging when I get the chance, so, I was torn…
Do I take down the blog and just not mess with it?
Do I jump back in, and blog as time allows, about topics I feel like?
I have decided to go with the second option. This is a good outlet for me. I can write (which I actually enjoy doing) and vent (which I actually HAVE to do lol).
So, with this post, I am back. Not sure if anyone cares to read this or not, but, it isn’t a factor to me.

Wow…what can I say? Kevin Dubrow – dead. He may not have had the greatest voice, but, it was unique, loud and proud. One of the true voices of Hair Metal….the sound of the 80′s.

The Second Coming…

At least, one would think that is what is going on today, given all the blogging activity and news surrounding the latest Apple release. Today, Jobs & Co. rolled out the next generation of iPods. These include a Touch Screen version, a Classic iPod, and a new video iPod Nano.
I will let it be known that I am an iPod fanboy. I LOVE my iPod. But, considering I received it as a gift this past Christmas, for the newest version to be released today with the name “Classic” is a bit much for me.
Now, some of you know that I spend a good amount of time reviewing news feeds and RSS feeds from various tech, entertainment, sports and news sites. I was using my online feed reader and could NOT keep up with the iPod postings that were flooding my inbox. I finally gave up and left it alone for a while, but, deleting en masse is a bit irritating because I know there is likely to be something that I would like to read, but now can’t. Yes, there are filters. I just don’t feel like messing with them right now.
I think I may take a nap.

Hi folks,
This is a quick little post to explain some absence. I have been in preparation for my store’s inventory and busy with a few side projects. That covers why postings have been a bit fleeting of late.
Now, I am going into inventory week. Obviously, that is my focus and will result in a bit of minor exhaustion. The week following the inventory will be my summer vacation. I am electing to leave my laptop at home and will be off the net for that time.
I am looking forward to the chance for the recharge. I am also looking forward to jumping back into this thing when I return.
